Giving Back
Being one of the largest watch manufacturers in the world has enabled us to extend our helping hand to those who are in need. We are performing many charity programs for underprivileged communities that reside in the rural regions in China. As much as we are focused on improving the business, we are also highly focused on giving back to the world by helping to raise up the livelihoods of the communities. We have conducted several programs in aid of the communities, focusing on improving the communities in many aspects and situations.
Guizhou is a relatively remote mountainous area in China where many children in need reside. We have been visiting the region in aid for the children, every year, and for three years thus far. On March 25, 2021, our team went to the local area and followed the school principal’s family visits to understand the situation on the spot. We hope that all of our love will be given to the people who need it most. When we went to a house to learn about the situation, we heard a mother who had been sick all year-round telling a story like this. This mother was in her 50s. She seemed to be elder than her actual age due to her years of illness. Her husband passed away a few years earlier, leaving her and a pair of children behind. Her daughter graduated from high school last year, and her son was in the third year of high school that year. As her daughter graduated from high school last year, the family really didn’t have the money for her to go to college. But her mother said that as a mother, she is unwilling to give up any possible life-long happiness of her own child. Nevertheless, she has no choice. This story really moved us into a feeling of empathy.
In this school, there were many, many such children who come from families of similar conditions, and many, many such children are faced to the hard situation of dropping out of the school. We hope that we can give these children a little warmth through our helping hands. We will continue this activity with more people. Our team not only give financial help to people, but we also encourage children and parents through speeches that there are more possibilities and more hope in life, as long as you stay brave in facing the challenges.
It was at the beginning of the year 2020, during China’s biggest festival and holiday, which the biggest threat that the world has faced in recent history occurred, the COVID-19 Epidemic in China. The entire nation has to face the blockades and what we saw every day was the doctors and nurses from various hospitals in Wuhan in the daily news.
On the 5th day of the outbreak, we initiated a program. In order to do something for our people in Wuhan, we started to raise funds, set up a team of volunteers to purchase masks, and sent masks to government departments. From the original team of 5 people to the later dozens of people, we worked day and night for many days. Our entire team was thrilled yet felt meaningful in working on this. This is the first time we have experienced such a situation. In the process, we realized that the real happiness at the bottom of people’s heart comes from their contributions to the society and the world.
